Hi there! I’m Shannon, a licensed Esthetician, and owner of Your True Skin by SNK (YTS). Usually I am not a fan of the limelight, so here goes nothing… I’m a wife, and mother to 4 amazing kids (two are already grown ::sad mom tears::). I had been a stay at home mom since 2003. It was my calling in life while they were young. (It’s not the same for everyone, I get that!) Then they grew up. The reason I decided to go back to school for esthetics is because I was a mom who didn’t make time for herself. I was always on the, very very, back burner in my mind. The closer to being an empty nester I get, I knew I had lost myself along the way and that it really didn’t serve me well as a wife and, especially, as a mom. I wanted to change that for other women who don’t make themselves a priority. So here I am. Making you a priority one facial at a time! Now, maybe you’re like me. The main reason I wouldn’t prioritize my self care, was cost. It wasn’t because I couldn’t afford it, but because I felt that somehow it was taking away from something for my kids/our home/ etc financially. That wasn’t true whatsoever, but my mom brain thought that way, nonetheless. So I would purchase cheaper services to justify it, and only every now and then, mainly because of the saying “you get what you pay for”, usually rang true for me. They weren’t enjoyable, and really didn’t fill my cup at all. That’s a saying I aim to go vehemently against in my treatment room! (Think, exception to the rule, here.) You will get a relaxting & result driven facial that comes from someone who is passionate about this! And, because I strongly believe that everyone deserves for someone to pamper them and refill their cup, is why I ended up, specifically, in this career field. “ Your purpose is not the thing you do. To know that someone can come to me tired and unsure of themselves in the moment and leave feeling a little more human, refreshed, and loved, is my purpose. You not only need this, you deserve it!
